This piece was painted for my husband Jim. It has special meaning for both of us.
We were on a church retreat near Carl Sandburg's home. As we stood on a small
bridge overlooking a lake we heard a splash. Jim decided it was a mermaid! I
later painted the scene from memory and gave it to Jim for his birthday.
